Your guide

Hi, I'm
Santiago

A Colombian living in the Swiss Alps. Hiking guide in training. And the person who will accompany you on your next mountain adventure — in Spanish, at your pace, with safety first.

My story

From Colombia
to the Swiss Alps

I came to Switzerland years ago with a backpack and a strong desire to understand this country. I soon discovered that the Alps aren't just a pretty landscape you see from the train — they're something you feel when you walk on them, when you breathe that air, when you reach a ridge and the whole world opens up before you.

But I also discovered something that bothered me: for the Spanish-speaking community, that experience was almost out of reach. Not for lack of desire, but because of barriers — the language, not knowing where to start, not having someone you trust to explain how the mountains work here.

Clas Tours was born to change that. So that any Spanish speaker — living in Switzerland or visiting — can experience the Swiss mountains with total confidence, understanding every instruction, every risk, every wonder along the way.

I am currently training as a Wanderleiter — a certified hiking guide according to Swiss standards — because if you're going to guide people in the mountains, you have to do it right or not at all.

How I work

What matters to me

Safety above all
In the mountains there are no second chances. I'd rather shorten a route or turn back than put anyone at risk. The group's safety always comes first, without exception.
Straight honesty
If a tour isn't for you, I'll tell you. If conditions aren't right, I cancel. I don't sell experiences I can't guarantee. I'd rather have a disappointed client today than an injured one tomorrow.
Small groups, real attention
I'm not a mass-tour guide. Maximum 10 people. I know every participant's name, adapt the pace, answer questions. You're not a number on a list — you're the reason for the departure.
Genuine passion
I don't do this to tick a box. The Alps still thrill me after walking them many times. That energy is contagious — and it's what turns a hike into a lifelong memory.
Respect for the environment
The mountain isn't an amusement park. We leave no trace, respect fauna and flora, and follow the Swiss hiking code. If we don't look after the mountains, there will be no mountains to guide.
Truly in your language
It's not just that I speak Spanish — I think in Spanish, understand fears in Spanish, celebrate summits in Spanish. There's a huge difference between a guide who translates and one who really talks to you.
Training and certifications

Prepared to guide you

The mountains demand real preparation. This isn't a hobby I turned into a business — it's a vocation I'm building with official training, real tours and a lot of respect for the mountains.

My tours

Here are real photos from the departures — the landscapes, the groups, the moments that make it all worthwhile.

My philosophy
The mountain owes you nothing. You owe it to yourself to go prepared, with respect and with someone who knows what they're doing.
